高齢者の骨折

わが国では人類が歴史上経験したことがないスピードで高齢化が進行している．わが国の65歳以上人口はまもなく20％を超え，2030年には30％に達する．80歳以上の超高齢者人口の増加も顕著で，2000年に3.8％であったのが2050年には13.9％に達すると予測されている（図1）．これとともに，将来，高齢者骨折が急増することは明らかで，その対策が急がれている．

　本稿では，高齢者骨折の疫学的知見を概説し，その予防について述べる．
