Stroke Unitの効果―欧州におけるエビデンス

　わが国の脳卒中患者数は，現在137万人にのぼる^1）が，人口の高齢化とともに今後20年以内にその数は倍増すると予測されており，脳卒中治療体制の整備は緊急の課題となっている．脳卒中ユニット（stroke unit；SU）におけるリハビリテーション（以下，リハ）を含む包括的な脳卒中治療によって，脳卒中患者の転帰を改善できることは，すでに複数の臨床研究のメタ解析などから立証されており，脳卒中ユニットは世界各国の対脳卒中戦略のほとんどがとりいれているキーワードの1つである．本稿では，脳卒中ユニットの体制，効果，世界の現状について紹介し，これからのわが国のリハを含む脳卒中診療体制について考察を加えたい．
