和温療法の実際と展望

はじめに

　心身のリラックス効果や疲労回復にも有用である温水浴・サウナ浴は，元来心疾患患者には不適で，特に心不全患者では禁忌とされてきた．われわれは，1989年より非薬物性血管拡張作用を有する温浴に注目し，心不全患者に禁忌とされてきた入浴をいかに安全に行えるかを検討し，入浴方法を確立した．そして，慢性心不全患者の臨床症状や血行動態の改善^1,2），血管機能の改善^3），自律神経や神経体液性因子異常の是正^4）をもたらすことを明らかにした．

　本稿では，われわれが行ってきた慢性心不全における和温療法の効果とその機序について概説する．
