はじめに

 Brain-Machine Interface(BMI)とは,脳とコンピュータの間で信号をやりとりして外部機器を操作したり,感覚情報を得たりする技術であり,種々の疾患による身体機能障害に対する機能代行技術として期待されている.本稿では,BMIについて,その萌芽期から最新の研究成果まで概説する.
