はじめに

　近年，科学技術の進歩に伴い医療環境は大きく変化し，筆者らが専門とする脊椎・脊髄疾患領域も画像診断法の進歩に伴い，治療法は大きく変容を遂げている．本稿で，脊椎・脊髄外科領域における画像診断法ならびに脊椎・脊髄外科治療の進歩を概説し，各論として代表的な脊椎・脊髄疾患に対するわれわれの治療方針を解説する．
