視覚経路と運動・行動

はじめ

　視覚経路の研究は，古くは霊長類での解剖学的研究から現在の脳機能イメージングまで多岐にわたる．視覚経路は物体の知覚だけでなく，物体と動作者の位置関係などの空間情報処理や眼球運動と深くかかわっており，その障害は運動に大きな影響を及ぼす．また，意識されない視覚系である膝状体外視覚系は，情動認知やアイコンタクトなど社会的認知に重要な役割を果たしている．

　本稿では主にヒトと霊長類での病巣研究と機能画像の研究の観点から，視覚経路と運動・行動とのかかわりについての知見をレビューする．
