股関節の運動機能と変形性股関節症の新たな評価

はじめに

　本稿は股関節の運動機能と変形性股関節症（以下，股関節症）の新たな評価と題しているが，特に目新しい評価法を紹介するわけではない．新たな評価方法というよりは，従来の評価法を再考するといったほうがふさわしいかもしれない．

　確かに整形外科学分野の股関節症に対する定義や診断基準，治療体系などのパラダイムは変化してきている．もとより，理学療法の評価・治療も再考する必要はあろう．単刀直入に，何が何でも理学療法のパラダイムチェンジが必要である，と結論づけるのは時期尚早である．ひとまず，今までの評価を見直してみてはどうか．とにかく，新しい評価法を提案するという考えも悪くはないが，整形外科学の新たな知見や，今まで見過ごしてきた基本事項を整理し，従来の評価の価値を再確認することから始めたい．
