はじめに

　半側空間無視（unilateral spatial neglect：USN）は，脳卒中の発症後にしばしば生じる徴候であり^1〜4），損傷半球の対側視空間における刺激に対して発見して報告したり，刺激方向を向いたりすることが障害される病態と定義される^5）．例えば，左USNを伴う患者では車椅子の左側ブレーキの操作を忘れたり，左側の食物を食べ残すといった臨床的特徴として観察することができる．

　USNは，脳卒中患者の日常生活動作（ADL）を阻害するなどリハビリテーションの帰結に影響^3,6,7）を及ぼすことが広く知られている．本稿では，臨床家の立場からUSNの臨床特性とUSNを呈する症例へのADL改善をめざした理学療法を提示する．
