●疫学的な観点から,膝関節痛および変形性膝関節症(膝OA)の有病率の報告をまとめ,危険因子に関する最近のシステマティックレビューおよび観察研究の知見を示した

●医療経済学的な観点から,保存療法と手術療法に分けて,膝OAの治療にかかる医療費の例を試算し,費用対効果の研究を紹介した

●理学療法における高齢者の膝関節痛および膝OAの位置づけについて考察した
