脊椎の低侵襲手術の特徴-XLIF®とOLIF

 腰部脊柱管狭窄症,腰椎変性すべり症,椎間板症,成人脊柱変形症などの脊椎変性疾患に対して,腰椎椎体間固定術や脊柱矯正固定術などの外科的手術が施行される.手術を行うことで,痛みの改善,日常生活活動(ADL)や社会活動への参加能力が改善することが報告されており1〜3),術後の理学療法の重要性について言及した研究も散見される4,5)

 側方経路腰椎椎体間固定術(lateral interbody fusion:LIF)は,最小侵襲手術として近年,急速に普及した手術方法の1つで,代表的な手術には,extreme lateral interbody fusion(XLIF®)とoblique lateral interbody fusion(OLIF)がある(図1).
