●ヒトは豊富な身体自由度を有しており，さまざまな関節角度の組み合わせによって動作を遂行することができ，この特徴は運動等価性と呼ばれる

●脳卒中患者で観察される代償運動は，動かしづらい身体自由度の運動を比較的動かしやすい自由度の運動に依拠した運動等価性の結果とも言える

●脳卒中患者における理学療法では，焦点とする運動課題の達成度の回復を，どの程度代償によって達成するのか，患者の希望や潜在能力を踏まえて過大でも過小でもない運動戦略を想定したうえで評価・治療が展開される必要がある
