症例提示

臨床医（石原)　筋萎縮性側索硬化症（amyotrophic lateral sclerosis：ALS）の経過中に認知症症状を認めた78歳女性剖検例について提示します。

　認知症を伴うALS（ALS-D）は一般的に次のような特徴が知られています。「球麻痺型が多い」「認知症が先行する，あるいは運動症状とほぼ同時期に発症する場合が多い」「病識の欠如など，前頭葉性の特徴を示すことが多い」。そして，病理学的には，TDP-43蛋白質異常症と関連しています。
