キニア=ウィルソンは，後にウィルソン病といわれる進行性レンズ核変性症を発表し，錐体外路研究のパイオニアと見なされる。彼の神経症候学は若い頃に見学したマリー，バビンスキー，ジャクソンの臨床観察を基礎としている。現症の本質は何かを考えながら診察することこそ神経症候学であり，神経学の魂である。彼の魂がどのように形成されていったのかを紐解きながらその半生を紹介する。
