文献概要
本稿では臨床神経心理学的研究を概観し,人物・性別・人種などの認知と表情認知が異なる脳内機構によって行われていることを示す。人物同定には紡錘状回の活動が不可欠であり,特に右紡錘状回が重要である。表情認知には上側頭溝領域,扁桃体,前頭葉内側部が重要な役割を担っている。顔認知と表情認知はいずれも脳の広範な部分が関与する高度な知的作業であり,日常生活の中で非常に重要な意味を持っているといえる。
