はじめに

神田　本日は，特集「自己免疫性脳炎・脳症」のイントロダクションとして鼎談を企画いたしまして，日本における診療・研究を中心となって続けてこられたお2人の先生方にお越しいただきました。ここ20数年の自己免疫性脳炎の診断・治療の進歩の歴史を振り返りながら，自己免疫性脳炎の将来の方向性がみえるようなお話をお願いいたします。

　なお，自己免疫性脳炎といってもその中に含まれる疾患は多岐にわたりますので，今回は橋本脳症とVGCK関連抗体陽性脳炎，抗NMDA受容体（NMDAR）脳炎の3つに絞ってお話を伺っていきたいと思います。
