神経原線維変化型老年期認知症(SD-NFT)は海馬領域に多量の神経原線維変化(NFT)を有するが老人斑[アミロイドβ蛋白(Aβ)沈着]を欠く高齢者の認知症疾患である。近年,加齢に伴い内側側頭葉にNFTが出現するがAβ沈着を欠く状態を示す病理用語として原発性年齢関連タウオパチー(PART)が提案され,SD-NFTはPART病理の進展による認知症と考えられている。
