伊藤研究室の隆盛

酒井　伊藤先生が1962年に帰国されてからのご研究は，どのようにして実ったのでしょうか。

宮下　1964年から，日本での研究の論文が出始めます。記念碑的な論文が1つありまして，『Experientia』というジャーナルに出た1964年の論文¹⁾です。小脳を刺激すると，ダイテルス核の細胞に抑制性のシナプス後電位が出たという発見です。その電位が単シナプスに対応する短い潜時で出たので，小脳の主要な出力が抑制性ということになり，これは予想外の結果でした。
