三次元視覚世界を創る脳の領域

網膜像は二次元であるにもかかわらず，私たちヒトは豊かで安定した三次元視覚世界を即座に知覚できる。では，ヒトが感じる立体感は，脳のどの領域のどのような働きによって再構築されているのだろうか。本論では，立体視の一般的な研究手法を概説し，頭頂間溝に沿って隣接して位置する中・高次の視覚野，V3AとV3B/KOの働きが三次元視覚世界の再構築に重要な役割を果たすことを示した最近の研究成果を紹介したい。
