気分安定薬（双極性障害治療薬）

双極性障害は気分，行動，意欲などに障害をきたす精神疾患である。抑うつエピソードと躁（軽躁）エピソードを繰り返し（その両方の症状が混在する混合エピソードもある），その間に寛解期がある。治療は，それぞれのエピソードに対する治療とともに，次のエピソードを予防する維持療法も必要になる。主に用いられる薬は古典的には炭酸リチウムやバルプロ酸であり，近年，ラモトリギンに加え，アリピプラゾール，クエチアピン，ルラシドンなどの非定型抗精神病薬も使用されるようになってきている。治療の原則は単剤治療であるが，実際には，いくつかの薬を組み合わせて治療を行うことも稀ではない。
