2015年に発表された「Movement Disorder Society Parkinson's Disease臨床診断基準」の診断精度は、病理診断をゴールドスタンダードとして、運動障害専門医97.2％、非専門医90.3％であった。発症早期のPD患者においても高い正診率が示された。
