日本の総合診療外来におけるdifficult patient encountersの頻度は「市中病院」で15.0％と、諸外国のプライマリ・ケア外来と同等の結果であった。一方、紹介患者が中心の「大学病院」においては39.8％と、市中病院より有意に高い結果であった（p＜0.001）。
