Point
・拡張期にバルーンをinflation（拡張）することで（diastolic augmentation），冠動脈への血流，酸素供給量が増加する．
・収縮期にバルーンをdeflation（収縮）することで（systolic unloading），後負荷が軽減され心拍出量が10〜20%程度増加する．
・inflationとdeflationのタイミングがずれると上記の効果が得られず，逆に心負荷となってしまうことがある．
・V-A ECMO使用患者においてIABPを併用することで，ECMO離脱成功率，28日予後，院内死亡率の改善が期待される．
