Point
・心房細動カテーテルアブレーションでは,自覚症状を有する患者で適応となることが多いが,その判断は慎重に行うべきである.
・カテーテルアブレーションを含めたリズムコントロールの効力は,心房細動や心不全の病態が進む前に行われるべきであり,タイミングを見誤らないことが重要である.
・近年,心不全を合併した心房細動患者において,カテーテルアブレーションの有効性が多数報告され,生命予後や心不全入院を改善する治療法として積極的に考慮される.
・心房細動に対するアブレーションの方法は進歩しており,バルーンテクノロジーを含め,高周波カテーテルアブレーションを用いた高出力/短時間の通電やパルスフィールドなどの全く新しい方法によるカテーテルアブレーションも試みられつつある.
