Eight cases of syphilis：Experience in our department

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that has shown a marked increase in the number of infections in recent years. Correspondingly, the number of patients presenting with otorhinolaryngological symptoms is also increasing. In this study, we encountered eight cases of otorhinolaryngological syphilis over a period of three years and eight months. The patients’ ages ranged from 36 to 64 years；there were seven males and one female. Three patients presented with a butterfly appearance, while four had cervical lymphadenopathy, two of which were painless. Syphilis is no longer a disease of the past and should be kept in mind in otorhinolaryngological practice.
はじめに
梅毒は梅毒トレポネーマ（Treponema pallidum subsp. pallidum：Tp）を病原体とする性感染症であり，5類感染症に指定される。本邦においては近年罹患数が著しく増加傾向であり1），咽頭や頸部など耳鼻咽喉科領域の症状を初発とする患者も増加してきている。2020年3月～2023年11月に当科で経験した梅毒症例8症例について，文献的考察を含めて報告する。
