血尿の診断には，出血部位が糸球体か，非糸球体かを鑑別することが重要である．その鑑別法として，尿中赤血球容積分布曲線(RVDC)と尿中赤血球の形態を位相差顕微鏡などで定量観察する方法がある．RVDCは測定が簡単で熟練を必要とせず，判定が客観的で，出血部位診断に優れている．また，多数の検体を短時間で分析できるため，集団検診における尿潜血陽性者のスクリーニング検査として有用である．〔臨床検査　50：515-520，2006〕
