 最近の高周波カテーテルアブレーションの進歩には目を見張るものがある.従来は薬剤抵抗性の不整脈に対して施行されていたが,現在では多くの頻脈性不整脈においてカテーテルアブレーションの有効性と安全性とが確認されており,薬物療法とならんで“first therapy”として定着しつつある.さらには新たなマッピングシステムの出現により頻拍機序や不整脈基質の解明が進み,器質的心疾患に合併した心室頻拍など以前は治療が困難と考えられていた不整脈にまでその適応は拡大しており,RFCA技術の進歩は目覚ましいものといえるだろう.
