加齢に伴うホルモン分泌の変化

 加齢に伴って最も劇的でよく知られる内分泌的変化は,女性における卵巣機能の低下により生じる閉経である(menopause).そのほか,GH-IGF-1系のGH(growth hormone:成長ホルモン),IGF-1(insulin-like growth factor-1),男性の視床下部-下垂体-性腺機能系であるテストステロン(testosteron;T),副腎皮質機能系のデヒドロエピアンドロステロン(dehydroepiandrosterone;DHEA),その硫酸塩(DHEA-sulfate;DHEA-S)濃度の直線的な低下が知られ,menopauseにならってsomatopause,andropause,adrenopauseと呼ばれる(図1)1).加齢に伴う変化に関し,各年代での正常値が概ね求められ,各臓器の機能低下,骨粗鬆症,動脈硬化性疾患,筋力低下,記憶保持,認知機能などとの関連が推測され,抗老化作用を期待してそれぞれのホルモンの補充療法も行われている.一方,副腎皮質刺激ホルモン(adrenocorticotropic hormone;ACTH),副腎皮質ホルモン(コルチゾール,アルドステロン),甲状腺刺激ホルモン(thyroid stimulating hormone;TSH),甲状腺ホルモンなどの個体の生命維持に関係するこれらのホルモンの加齢変化は比較的少ない.視床下部ペプチドであるドパミン,ノルアドレナリン,セロトニン,コリンは一般的に減少することが知られている2)
