腸内常在菌の生体防御

宿主の生体防御をコントロールしているのが腸内常在菌である.なぜなら,腸内常在菌が棲む場である大腸はヒトの臓器の中で最も種類の多い疾患が発症する場である.21世紀になり,培養を介さない手法により,腸内常在菌の全容が明らかにされ,それらが現代医療のトップランナーになっている.特に,ストレスや加齢に伴う腸内常在菌の変動は宿主の生体防御の現れとして理解され,肥満における腸内常在菌の働きも論議されている.
