●ヒト免疫不全ウイルス（HIV）感染症の治療〔抗レトロウイルス療法（ART）〕は劇的に進歩し，HIV感染症は死に至る病から慢性疾患に移行している．

●進行した後天性免疫不全症候群（AIDS）では非結核性抗酸菌症を高率に合併し，全身播種型が多く予後不良であった．

●ARTにより非結核性抗酸菌症の合併も減少し，予後も改善している．
