咳喘息はどのような疾患ですか？

●概念・定義

　咳喘息は1979年にCorraoら^1）によって提唱された疾患概念で，気管支拡張薬により抑えられる慢性（8週間以上）咳嗽と定義されます．胸部画像で異常を認めないことが大前提です．呼吸機能はほぼ正常ですが，気道過敏性が亢進し，喘息の亜型に含まれます．典型的な喘息では，咳症状に加えて喘鳴（ゼーゼー，ヒューヒュー）や息苦しさを伴うのに対して，咳喘息では強く呼出させたとき（強制呼出時）の聴診でも喘鳴は聴取されず，咳症状だけを呈します^2）．
