Summary
Three littermates, two males and one female of the pointer breed, five months of age were affected with progressive neurogenic muscular atrophy. They were examined clinically and pathologically. Atrophy was manifested in themuscles of the head, neck, trunk and four limbs. Atrophy was aggravated in the course of disease and the affected dogs became completely tetra-plegic. Fasciculations were observed in most of the superficial muscles. The patella reflex was markedly diminished. Cutaneous sensation was intact. There were no bowel and urinary disturb-ances.
